-STARBUCKS-

Most of us are familiar with this coffee brand franchise. It was opened in 1971; the name was inspired by Moby Dick. Their mission: to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time. It specializes in different coffees from around the world.

Connection, coffee, and community, that was the aim of Starbucks. My favourite drink was green tea frappucino, then it changed to green tea latte, now I like vanilla cream frappucino ( suggested by a friend). The brownies and sandwich there is also good.

What makes Starbucks so popular unlike other coffee shops? I guess it's the environment and comfortable sofas. In addition, there are different types of coffee bean used to make the drinks. The food was also made from fresh ingredients. Though sometimes they couldn't whip up a perfect whip cream, I admit that Starbucks is a good hang out place to "chillax"= chill and relax ( gotten from an episode in 'Glee'). Noted, there is also free Wi-fi connection.

I still don't understand why they use a mermaid for a logo. What does that mean? It does not really show about seafaring. More like, beautiful exotic thing. It does not connect to their aim. Though I like the second design, I don't agree for the third one to be used in 2011. I mean, the second one is a classic and is liked by many peers.

Overall, Starbucks is a good example of how a business can expand when someone invests in it and explore its plus points. I believe that Starbucks will continue on growing and be successful in creating new products. That's the thing I want to talk about! Putting your heart into some work, it will always come out satisfying. It doesn't matter if its perfect, what matters is that you did your best, that's what counts.
